One of the most depressing aspects of the new Iron Man movie was the liberties taken with The Mandarin. However, this is still pretty interesting…
In an interview with Empire, director Shane Black explained the symbolism behind the Captain America tat:
The Captain America tattoo on the back of The Mandarins neck] was actually part of the design of the Mandarin. He’s very cobbled together. Its essentially a Captain America shield with an anarchy symbol in the middle of it. It’s a corruption of America again.
Co-writer Drew Pearce also weighed in with his thoughts:
It was that brilliant kind of mash up vibe of, How would a think tank create a terrorist? And the way that they would do it in their own wanky way is to put together a mood board of all of the symbols of modern Western power. And I think post The Battle Of New York, Caps shield would be one of them.

The Unused Opening Title Credits For ‘Iron Man 3′.
I’m a bad lil’ geek and didn’t see Iron Man 3 opening day (saw it last night). Some aspects were beautifully shot but overall I found the movie pretty disappointing. Major characters being completely altered in horrendous ways, an annoying brat child that helps save the day, and a character I had hoped would play a semi-large role in the movie was reduced to a couple of sentences. At least there’s Thor 2 later on this year.
And it boggles my mind that people STILL leave before the credits finish during a Marvel movie. As in, I want to stand up and yell at them.
That being said, the credits (both the unused and used) are wonderfully comic book 80’s.

SCIENCE!!
Without VFX, Iron Man 2 is the story of two men, with soft spots on their heads, getting into trouble in their pajamas.
I would watch that movie so much
